The management of Delta State University, Abraka, has rusticated a 200-level Biotechnology student, Ezi Ugoma, for posting a video on TikTok showing a dying student allegedly linked to an abortion incident.
According to a letter dated October 21, 2025, Ugoma was found guilty of breaching her matriculation oath by filming and uploading the scene from the university’s health centre. The disciplinary committee recommended a four-semester suspension, effective from the 2025/2026 session, with resumption slated for 2027/2028.
The university described her action as gross misconduct and a violation of its code of conduct. Reports said Ugoma’s stepfather reacted angrily, telling her to “kiss her education goodbye.”
Meanwhile, journalist Oseni Rufai condemned the decision on his X handle, calling it a “gross injustice” and appealing to the Vice Chancellor to reconsider. “Please sir, do not allow this young lady’s future to be shattered and cut short,” he urged.
