Egypt, ICRC Join In Israeli Hostages’ Body Search In Gaza
Officials from Egypt and the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (ICRC), have joined in the hunt for the bodies of Israeli hostages trapped in Gaza.
There are 13 hostage bodies that Hamas has yet to return to Israel on the basis of the 20- point peace plan by mediators led by America.
The Egyptians arrived the strip with several units of heavy duty vehicles to move piles of rubble caused by the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) troops who dropped more the 200,000 tonnes of explosive ordnance in the territory during the two- year war.
Aside from the ICRC and Egypt, Turkiye, one of the mediators in talks leading up to the ceasefire, has also offered to help in the efforts to retrieve the trapped bodies
It is estimated that more than,9,000 Palestinians remain under the rubble caused by Israeli bombardments.

Protests As Authorities Set To Announce Presidential Poll Results
Massive protests have been taking place in parts of Cameron as the authorities get set to announce the outcome of the October 12 presidential.poll
Ahead of the poll result annonncement, protests have hit the capital, Yaounde, and other major cities, including Douala, after the opposition leader, unilaterally claimed victory in the poll.
Incumbent President Paul Biya, the oldest President in the world, vied for a fresh term in the poll and his supporters are hoping he wins.
However, the main opposition party candidate, Issa Zakary, who claimed victory, disputes that prospect, saying that Camerounians had spoken, loud and clear, in the October 12 poll , in favour of him and his party.
Zakary warned the Constitutional.Council against announcing any results that are inchoate with the expressed wishes of voters, saying the citizens would deploy all legitimate means to resist rigging.
At least four persons have died in clashes between security men enforcing order, and youths who have joined the anti- government protests.
Biya has been in power since 1982 when he took over from Ahmadu Ahidjo.

President Milei’s Liberal Party Wins Argentina’s Mid – term Parliamentary Polls
The Liberal Party of the right wing President Javier Milei has won Sunday’s mid term Parliamentary Polls in Argentina.
The party , from the results announced so far, made extraordinary gains in the lower house with 64 seats from the front 37 it had before the new polls, and 13 seats in the Senate, up from the earlier 6.
In terms of popular votes, the performance tallies at roughly 41 percent of total votes cast.
A joyous Milei thanked Argentinians for their support which, he said would now enable his party to proceed with its economic and social reform policies.
Already, the President of America Donald Trump , whose poll threshold grant of $40 billion grant to Argentina is believed to have influenced the elections, has congratulated Argentina and President Milei on the polls outcome.

UN Seeks Free Passage For Civilians Trapped In Al- Fasher
The United Nations (UN) has called for prompt safe passage for civilians trapped in the city of Al- Fasher.
The city, which hosted the last stronghold base of the Sudanese Army, collapsed and fell to the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Saturday night.
The RSF had laid strategic encirclement ( siege) to the city for nearly 18 months,before its eventual fall.
The fall of Al- Fasher implies that the Sudaneses Army has lost almost all of the Darfur Region of the country to the rebels .
The fall of the city comes as the RSF resumed heavy drone attacks on the reopened Khartoum Airport in the capital of the country.
The airport, shut for two years, had reopened last week Wednesday but the rebel group has been pounding the area and the capital city of Khartoum since the reopening.

Trump Arrives In Japan on Asian Tour
The President of America, Donald Trump, has arrived in Tokyo at the start of a historic visit to Japan.
The visit is part of the larger Asia tour of Trump who is also expected to be in China later this week.
In Japan, Trump is expected to meet the Emperor of Japan, Nahurito, and, later tomorrow, Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi.
Both leaders are expeced to hold talks to iron out their persisting disagreements in trade and tariffs
Trump had threatened Japan with tariffs following what he called the undue exploitation of the American economic opportunities by exporters from the island country.

East Timor Formally Admitted Into ASEAN
East Timor has been formally admitted into the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) .
The admission took place at the ongoing 47 session of the ASEAN Summit holding in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia.
More than 20 countries are being represented at the summit which is focusing on how to reposition the region for enhanced role in the global economy.
