In a move signaling renewed momentum in Nigeria’s sports administration, newly elected presidents of various sporting federations have been officially inaugurated by Mr. Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC).
Among those inaugurated were Dr. Chamberlain Nnamdi Dunkwu, who now heads the Nigeria Aquatics Federation (NAF), and Rt. Hon. (Engr.) Victor Ochei, the new President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation.
The ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter in Nigeria’s sports governance, focused on strategic innovation, institutional accountability, and athlete development across all disciplines.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Dunkwu outlined his vision for the Aquatics Federation, pledging to enhance technical capacity, revitalize infrastructure, and establish stronger international collaborations aimed at improving Nigeria’s global competitiveness in aquatic sports.
Chairman Shehu Dikko charged the new leaders to uphold integrity, professionalism, and inclusivity in the discharge of their duties, aligning their goals with the Federal Government’s vision for sporting excellence and youth empowerment.
