The Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG) extends warm congratulations to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and all citizens on the occasion of the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Convener of the group, Chief Jacob Edi (Kakaki Bassange), in a goodwill message, said:
“Over the last six and a half decades, our unity and resolve to remain one indivisible nation have been tested repeatedly. Yet, we remain steadfast. Our resilience, patience, and shared hope in Nigeria’s destiny have sustained us.”
He paid tribute to Nigeria’s founding fathers, leaders past and present, as well as ordinary citizens “whose daily sacrifices continue to be the cornerstone of our national endurance.”
The NNMG also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his courage and vision, noting that his policies and leadership choices “signpost a commitment to Nigeria’s progress and stability above political considerations.”
As the country marks 65 years of freedom, the group reminded Nigerians that “what binds us together is far greater than the forces that seek to divide us,” stressing that diversity, resilience, and hope are the true essence of the Nigerian spirit.
The NNMG urged citizens to renew faith in the Nigerian project, remain united, and work collectively towards building a nation that fulfils the dreams and aspirations of its founding fathers.
