The Management of TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited, TSSNL said that government Security Agencies in company of its personnel visited and sealed up the premises of some filling stations selling condensate products to unsuspecting public along Abeke Road/Ugberikoko Road in Sapele, Delta State.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to Our Correspondent by the Management of TSSNL.
According to them, the movement was made to enable them carry out proper investigation and test of the products collected in the process.
“In line with our mandate, TANTITA SSNL received intelligence report that some filling stations within the Abeke axis in Sapele were selling condensate product as petrol.” It further explained that, “Condensate product is unrefined gaseous component of crude oil and is not licensed for sale to the public as fuel.
According to them “It can damage the engine of cars owned by the unsuspecting public and its presence in a filling station is usually an evidence of illegal activity as the seller must have obtained it illegally from crude oil platform.
“Our officials communicated this intelligence to government security agencies who visited the filling stations in company of our team and sealed up the premises to enable them carry out proper investigation and test of the products collected in the process.
“Investigations are ongoing but test results have revealed that two of the filling stations are actually selling illegal condensate”, the statement further added.
They however assured that once the tests is completed, any station not found wanting will be re-opened immediately.
“The Closure of the erring filling station is in the interest of the general public to prevent damage to cars and other petrol driven equipment”, the statement further said.
