Gov. Soludo Sacks Vigilante Operatives for Assault on Female NYSC Member
The Anambra State Government has dismissed eight operatives of the Agunechemba Security Outfit over the assault of a serving female member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Miss Edema Jennifer Elohor, in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.
Disclosing this in Awka on Wednesday, the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Hon. Ken Emeakayi, said the decisive action was taken to safeguard public trust and redeem the image of the State’s community security network.
According to him, the government has fully offset the medical bills of the victim, replaced her damaged valuables, and formally tendered an apology to her family and the NYSC authorities.
He further noted that First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, had earlier raised concerns over the unfortunate incident and demanded that the culprits face justice, in line with the government’s zero tolerance for any form of abuse or misconduct.
Governor Soludo reassured residents that his administration remains committed to protecting lives, property, and the dignity of every individual in the State.
