Following their triumphant victory at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship, Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, have received generous rewards from President Bola Tinubu.
Each player was awarded $100,000 (N152,300,000) and a brand-new apartment in appreciation of their historic achievement. Members of the coaching staff were not left out, with each receiving $50,000.
In further recognition of their contribution to national pride and sporting excellence, President Tinubu also conferred the national honour of the Order of the Niger (OON) on all team members.
This latest triumph cements D’Tigress’s status as continental basketball giants and symbols of Nigeria’s growing dominance in women’s sports.
