Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has applauded the African Democratic Congress (ADC) under the leadership of Former Senate President, David Mark for its bold steps toward youth inclusion in leadership, following the party’s recent appointments to its National Working Committee (NWC).
In a statement shared on social media, Atiku congratulated several newly appointed young leaders withinthe ADC, including Bilyaminu Duhu (Assistant National Youth Leader, North East), Jackie Wayas (Deputy National Publicity Secretary), Hassana Dada (Assistant National Youth Leader, North Central), David Itopa (Deputy National Welfare Secretary), and Hauwa Yusuf (Deputy National Secretary), among others.
“The ADC is no longer just speaking about youth inclusion; it is now boldly demonstrating it in action. Indeed, the future of our youth must not be shaped in their absence, and I commend the ADC for setting a powerful example by giving them a seat at the table where decisions are made,” Atiku said.
He praised the appointments as a reflection of genuine leadership, stating:
“This is what true leadership looks like, not just talking the talk, but walking it with purpose.”
Atiku’s remarks come at a time when youth participation in politics has been a growing focus nationwide. His endorsement of the ADC’s move signals continued support for intergenerational leadership and broader political inclusion.
