Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District on Sunday gathered at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, where they unanimously pledged unwavering loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
The high-level strategic meeting drew senior government officials, party executives, political leaders, and grassroots mobilisers, with discussions centred on strengthening unity, discipline, and internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections. Participants emphasized the need to fortify the party’s structures, deepen collaboration across all levels, and enhance readiness for what they described as a pivotal election year.
Moving the motion for the loyalty declaration—seconded by Chief Andrew Oru—the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, praised President Tinubu for significant achievements in national security and economic stability. Keyamo noted that Nigeria is experiencing improved security across several regions, attributing the development to the President’s firm commitment to tackling insecurity.
He also commended Governor Oborevwori for what he described as unprecedented infrastructural development across Delta State. Keyamo urged APC members to remain united as party congresses approach, warning aspirants that no one would obtain the party’s ticket “from Abuja” without the backing of grassroots leaders. Loyalty, discipline, and respect for party hierarchy, he stressed, remain essential for electoral victory.
Delta State APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, highlighted the ongoing political realignment from the PDP to the APC in the state. He urged members to prioritise genuine grassroots engagement and uphold unity despite anticipated political attacks, expressing optimism that the APC would secure a landslide victory in 2027.
In his remarks, Delta Central APC Chairman, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, cautioned against indiscipline, factional loyalty, and divided structures within the party. Describing Delta Central as the “political engine room” of the APC in the state, Akpeki declared that the only recognized leader of the Delta APC is Governor Oborevwori. He dismissed any alternative centres of loyalty as unacceptable.
Akpeki announced new reforms to strengthen party operations, including mandatory monthly senatorial meetings to rotate across the eight LGAs and the creation of a Delta Central APC Caucus Committee responsible for strategic planning, conflict resolution, mobilisation, and performance evaluation.
“Our mission is too important, and the stakes too high for division or indiscipline. Delta Central APC must function as one family with one structure, one leadership, one direction, and one goal: victory in 2027,” he said.
Other leaders—including Senator Ede Dafinone; Hon. Ejiro Waive, Member representing Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency; NEXIM Bank Executive Director Stella Okotete; Chief Solomon Igrakpata; and Chief Andrew Oru—reinforced the call for unity and cohesion within the party.
Local Government APC chairmen present also pledged their commitment to delivering overwhelming votes for President Tinubu, Governor Oborevwori, and all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
At the close of the meeting, stakeholders reaffirmed their resolve to rebuild and reposition Delta Central APC into a disciplined, united, and formidable political force capable of achieving sweeping victories in 2027.
