At least ten people have reportedly lost their lives in a fatal road accident that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The incident took place near the Soka area along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, a location notorious for heavy traffic and frequent road mishaps.
According to reports, the accident involved a collision between three Nissan Micra taxis and three articulated trucks. Eyewitnesses stated that all vehicles were traveling from the Iwo Road axis when the crash occurred.
A live broadcast on Lagelu 96.7 FM, monitored by PMParrot, confirmed the tragic development, citing that emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the incident.
As of the time this report was filed, efforts to reach officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Oyo State for an official statement were unsuccessful.
Authorities are expected to launch an investigation into the cause of the accident, while commuters are advised to exercise caution and obey all traffic regulations, especially along major expressways.
