Inter Miami and Palmeiras have both booked their places in the Round of 16 of the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup after a 2-2 draw in their final group match.
Earlier in the day, Paris Saint-Germain and Botafogo also secured qualification from their group. PSG bounced back from a surprise 1-0 defeat to Botafogo by defeating Seattle Sounders 2-0 on Monday night.
Despite early resistance from the MLS side, the French champions broke the deadlock just before halftime when Vitinha’s off-target shot deflected in off Kvaratskhelia. Achraf Hakimi added a second after the break, sealing a comfortable win for the Parisians.
Botafogo also advanced as group runners-up despite suffering a narrow 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid. Antoine Griezmann scored a late winner in the 87th minute, but it wasn’t enough to keep the LaLiga side in the tournament.
With the latest results, Inter Miami, Palmeiras, PSG, and Botafogo now join Juventus, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Flamengo in the Round of 16.
The knockout stage promises exciting matchups as the tournament heats up toward the final rounds.
