The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has issued a stern warning following what it described as a “severe violation” of the ongoing ceasefire agreement by the Iranian regime. In a situational assessment held today, IDF Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, declared that Israel would respond decisively.
“In light of the severe violation of the ceasefire carried out by the Iranian regime, we will respond with force,” said LTG Zamir, according to an official IDF statement.
The nature of the violation has not yet been disclosed publicly, but military officials say it involved an incident that directly threatens Israeli security and regional stability. Tensions between Israel and Iran have been steadily escalating in recent months, despite ongoing international efforts to de-escalate hostilities through diplomatic channels.
The international community has yet to issue an official response, but calls for restraint are anticipated from the United Nations and allied governments.
