A surprising development within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has erupted today as staff at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja (Wadata Plaza) staged a protest against Senator Samuel Anyanwu, who was recently removed from his position as the party’s National Secretary.
The protest culminated in a mass walkout, leaving the secretariat virtually empty and deserted when Anyanwu drove in this morning. THE RADARR gathered that the staff returned to their various offices to resume duty after Anyanwu left the premises.
The protest was triggered by Anyanwu’s persistent claim to the position of National Secretary, despite a March 2025 Supreme Court ruling which deemed internal party leadership disputes outside its purview, affirming them as matters for the party to resolve. This legal clarity backed the decision of the PDP’s 600th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting, which had directed the Deputy National Secretary, Arc. Hon. Koshoedo Setonji, to assume the role of Acting National Secretary.
Party staff, visibly frustrated, called for an end to what they described as attempts to undermine the party’s internal resolution process. Protesters demanded that Senator Anyanwu respect the party’s decisions and stop parading himself as National Secretary.
