NUJ @ 70: Abuja-Based Entrepreneur Chief Abba Adaudu Congratulates Yahaya Bello on Merit Award
Abuja-based entrepreneur and chartered accountant, Chief Abba Adaudu, has congratulated the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on the conferment of a Merit Award by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The award was presented by the Abdullahi Yahaya-led national executive of the NUJ during the Union’s 70th anniversary celebration held on Saturday.
Chief Adaudu described the recognition as “well deserved,” noting that the former governor made remarkable strides in governance and development during his tenure.
Highlighting some of Bello’s achievements, Adaudu praised his proactive approach to tackling insecurity across the state. He also commended the former governor for establishing two new universities—one in Kogi West and another in Kogi Central—to complement the existing institution in Kogi East, all of which he noted were well-funded under Bello’s administration.
In addition, Adaudu lauded the introduction of free education at both primary and secondary school levels in Kogi State, a policy he said positioned the state as a leader in educational development.
He further described Bello as a team player who led the state for eight years with “dignity and compassion.”
Chief Adaudu also commended the NUJ leadership for honoring Bello and prayed for continued strength and relevance for the Union in service to humanity. He urged the former governor to maintain a close relationship with the NUJ for the greater good of all Nigerians.
