The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona, a top aide to Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, over allegations of sexual exploitation and cyberbullying.
The EFCC announced the arrest in a brief statement posted on its official Facebook page on Saturday. According to the statement, Aondona, who serves as Special Adviser on Documentation, Research, and Planning, was arrested on Friday in Makurdi.
His arrest followed complaints from some female students who accused him of using his position to demand sexual favours. They claimed he often selected slim and attractive women for ushering jobs, but only after asking for sex in return, which they did.
The EFCC said Aondona secretly recorded these sexual encounters without the women’s consent. He allegedly used the videos to threaten and blackmail them into continuing the affairs.
The EFCC added that Aondona will be charged to court soon.
