During a high-energy crusade in Kebbi State on Wednesday, renowned Nigerian preacher and General Overseer of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, publicly rejected a ₦30 million gift offered by the state governor, Nasir Idris.
The Governor who was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Social Duties, Zayyanu Umar Aliero, addressed the congregation during the crusade, and announced the ₦30 Million cash gift as a gesture of hospitality and appreciation from Governor Idris.
However, Pastor Enenche politely declined the offer right on the podium. While acknowledging and appreciating the governor’s generosity, he insisted that the donation should be given to the orphanage instead.
Pastor Enenche Speaking, “We sincerely appreciate the gesture and the governor’s generous heart.
“But we will not take this money. Please channel it instead to orphanages or any other government project of your choice,” Enenche said.
As the crusade progressed, the cleric reiterated “We are one of those who believe that government money should be used for government projects and government needs, and church money should be used for church things, not mixed together. That is what we do.
“From the purchase of the land to the roofing of the Church’s headquarter; The Glory Dome, not a dime of government money is involved in it.
“So we can retain our dignity as a body of Christ and retain our dignity as a church, and say what we need to say when we need to say it.”
The Healing and Deliverance Crusade witnessed a powerful spiritual assembly, attracting thousands of worshippers.
Dr. Enenche’s refusal reflects a well-known tradition in his ministry. He maintains that during crusades, there are no offerings, tithes, or donations collected; instead, the team often provide food, medical outreach, clothing and transportation all funded by himself and the Church internally.
