Palmeras of Brazil beat Ah-Ahly Football Club of Egypt by two second half goals to record the first goals and victory in Group A of the FIFA Club World Cup Championship holding in America.
Palmeras scored in the 49th minute via an own goal by the Egyptian number nine, and netted the second via Jose Lopez in the 59th minute.
Shortly afterwards, the game was suspended for reason of inclement weather, but even when play resumed, the Egyptians could not reduce the tally.
