Manchester City beat Wydad Casablanca of Morocco by two goals to nil in tonight’s encounter in the FIFA Club World Cup championship holding in America
Manchester went ahead in the second minute of play through Golden and held on to ball possession till the 42 and minute when Jeremy Doku netted the second and last of the tie.
By netting, both players ended their barren run for City for a long time.
Wydad , on resumption became more assertive but poor finishing was their undoing in the game in which City’s Rico Lewis was red carded in the 86th minute for a grave offence against Obeng.
The opportunity for the third goal for City was wasted in the 91st minute by Haaland when, face- to- face with the goal keeper , he failed to convert, thus replicating an earlier waste by Doku.
