Again, Russia Unleashes Mayhem on Ukraine

Russian drones and missiles pounded Ukraine on Tuesday night into this morning, hitting targets in the capital city, Kiyev, and others.
Ukrainian officials said the attacks were a continuation of recent massive Russian assaults across the country.
In Kiyev, officials said several targets were hit, including a nine- storey building housing scores of residents.
Emergency workers said that 23 bodies had been recovered from the building in which “35 apartments were totally destroyed “.
Search and rescue operations were continuing at the site where scores remained trapped under the rubble, as well as elsewhere in the country.
The strikes on Tuesday night mark a remarkable continuation of the Russian onslaught on its smaller neighbour, as talks on a ceasefire wobble on.
The talks had held at two rounds in Istanbul, Turkey, but no major breakthroughs had been recorded , beyond the deals on the mutual exchange of Prisoners of War,POWs.
Frustrated at the slow pace of progress at the talks, the President of Ukraine, Wladimyr Zelensky, had called for tougher sanctions against Russia to compel it to fleshen up the talks.
But the American President, Donald Trump, whose threat of sanctions, helped create the way for the talks in the first instance, had yet to give vent to its threat to punish Moscow if it failed to demonstrate good faith and add fillip to the talks.
Analysts say Russia is hoping to go control the pace and tenor of the talks to enable it launch a major Winter offensive against Ukraine to further strengthen its hands at the talks.
Russia has partial or full control of four regions in Ukraine, and is targeting a fifth , the Sumy Region, to enable it to create a buffer zone between it and its neighbour.
