……… Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left – Trump
Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon has delivered a strong message condemning Iran’s attack on Israel.
Speaking at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) today, Israel accused Iran of launching hundreds of ballistic missiles targeting densely populated civilian areas, rather than military installations.
This comes as Iran launched a major missile offensive against Israel, following threats from its Supreme Leader to “inflict heavy blows” in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes carried out the previous night.
Israeli UN ambassador Danny Danon has been speaking to the UN Security Council and addressed his country’s military operation against Iran.
Danon says Israel’s goal is to “prevent its destruction” by dismantling Iran’s nuclear programme.
“We know our enemies. We know their ideology. And when a regime builds ballistic missiles, enriches uranium to near weapons-grade, and openly declares its intent to destroy us – we believe them,” he says.
He adds that Israel’s hand was forced because of Iran’s enrichment of uranium and hiring of nuclear scientists.
“We acted to ensure our people live. We acted so that Jewish children in Jerusalem will not wake to the sound of air raid sirens triggered by a nuclear launch,” he says.
Earlier, Iran’s ambassador called Israel’s strikes “barbaric and criminal”.
BBC correspondent Ione Wells reported hearing an explosion in Jerusalem, with black smoke visibly rising over Tel Aviv’s skyline.
In the aftermath of the attacks, forty individuals are receiving treatment in Israeli hospitals, including two who are in critical condition.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump responded by urging Iran to reach an agreement regarding its nuclear programme. He warned that without a deal, Israeli retaliation could become “even more brutal.”
“US President Donald Trump has urged Iran to make a deal over its nuclear programme, saying he gave Tehran ‘chance after chance’.”
“The talks between the US and Iran on a deal were about to enter their sixth round on Sunday.”
“I told them, in the strongest of words, to ‘just do it,’ but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done,” Trump writes on Truth Social.
“There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end,” he says.
“Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction, JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.”
President Trump added that he was informed of Israel’s plans prior to the operation, but emphasized that the U.S. military did not participate in the strikes.
