The killing, which continues unabated has left many dead, several injured and countless others displaced.
According to reports, Gen Oluyede left Abuja on Tuesday, in company of his Principal Staff Officers (PSOs) and other top military officials to the state to have an on-the-spot assessment of the situation.
It was gathered that the army chief has also ordered the deployment of more troops to the state to boost security in the area.
