Man Allegedly Kills Brother Over Wife’s Missing N2,000
A man, identified simply as Paul, has allegedly killed his younger brother, Saturday, over his wife’s missing N2,000.
The incident happened recently in Ugbokodo- Okpe community in Okpe local government area of Delta State.
On the fateful day, Paul had gone out of their residence when his wife accused his younger brother, Saturday, of stealing her missing N2000.
Sources said that Saturday, who lived with his elder brother and his wife, denied responsibility.
But the woman was not satisfied with Saturday’s submission.
In the course of the accusation and denial, the woman reportedly seized and impounded a shirt belonging to Saturday, who had become agitated, and, on that account, immediately slapped her.
Furious at Saturday’s attack, the woman called back her husband, who, returned home, furious at the attacker.
Without much ado, he reportedly beckoned on one of his sons and both went in search of Saturday who had by then left home for the Waterside part of the community.
On sighting Saturday, Paul, popularly called Papa Jeffrey, reportedly with the aid of his unnamed son, descended on his younger brother, stabbing him multiple times before he collapsed and died.
As news of the death of Saturday spread, youths of the community pounced on the alleged killer but he was rescued by security agents.
The angry youths, however, set ablaze the residence of alleged killer and the provision store of his wife.
The Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspect.
