NSF: 20 Kano Athletes Die In Road Accident
..Many others hospitalized

Tragedy has hit the Nigerian sports world with the death, today, of 20 athletes of Kano state in a road mishap.
The accident occured as the athletes who had represented the state in the recent National Sports Festival (NSF) in Ogun State were returning home to Kano.
Sources said the bus in which they were returning from the festival off the Dakatsalle Bridge in Kura local government area of Kano State.
20 of the athletes died on the spot, while many others were injured, some severely, and had to be taken to hospital.
Confirming the incident,Umar Fagge, Chairman of Kano State Sports Commission, said those affected had been taken to Kura General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
The Kano State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps,FRSC, confirmed the development through its spokesman , Abdullahi Labaran, who said he had yet to get the casualty figure.
