Nigeria Beat Jamaica To Win Unity Cup

Nigeria’ s Super Eagles , minutes ago, beat hard fighting Reggae Boys of Jamaica by five penalty goals to four to win this year’s edition of Afrexim Unity Cup.
Both teams had ended regular play with a score of two goals apiece before resorting to the spot kicks during which Nigeria netted all its five kicks, and Jamaica lost its fourth.
Nigeria had taken the lead in the ninth minute of play , thus raising the hope that it could overwhelm the youthful players from Kingston, Jamaica.
But that was not to be.
Jamaica fought back hard, and levelled scores in the 12 th minute.
Afterwards, exchanges became even, and the first stanza of play ended on an even keel of a goal apiece.
On resumption, Nigeria resestablished control and in the 52nd minute, a roving Samuel Chukwueze netted to restore the lead for Nigeria.
Yet, Jamaica never gave up. In the 63rd minute, sizzling dangler, Russel, scored to even the score line at two goals each.
With none able to get the clincher, both teams resorted to the penalty option during which Nigeria netted all its five kicks, and Jamaica, four.
