Ehiwarior Vows Enhanced Devt, Commissions
Grocery Shops
The Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructure and human capacity development.
Engr. Ehiwarior gave the assurance on Wednesday, while commissioning the Grocery Shops at the entrance of Edike Street, Agbor, built by Ika South Local Government.
He said he was particularly concerned about the wellbeing of the people, adding that his administration would continue to focus on projects and programmes that would add value to the lives of residents of the Local Government Area.
He noted that the Fruits Stand, while adding to economic value of individuals and the local government area (LGA), would also enhance the aesthetics of the town.
“The fruit stand will not only beautify our LGA, but will also bring standard to the business and prosperity for our beloved local government,” the Chairman declared.
Ehiwarior appealed to the Hausa community to make good use of the fruits shops, ensuring that the facility and adjoining environment were always kept clean, adding that if properly utilized, the government would be encouraged to construct more of such facilities.
He promised to ensure that the Edike Street, which is currently in a dilapidated state, is rehabilitated and made passable, even as he appreciated the kind gesture of the owner of a car shop opposite the fruits shop for accommodating the fruits sellers throughout the duration of their construction.
In another development, Engr. Ehiwarior has paid a scheduled inspection visit to the ongoing construction of the link road with dual drainage to the Edike bridge across Orogodo river, in Agbor, to assess progress of work.
He commended the contractor, Makadam Construction Company for the quality job, and encouraged them to expedite action for the accelerated completion of the project, which, he noted, was strategic and dear to residents of the metropolis.
According to the Chairman, “we will continue to to ensure that our plan to turn the area around the bridge to be motorable and erosion- free becomes a reality,” he assured.
