A total of 42 road projects are to be commissioned as part of the second anniversary of the Delta State Government under the watch of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
The projects form part of the grand tally of 431 road Projects that the state government has put its hands on.
This was disclosed today by Governor Oborevwori while giving the state of the state address at the Delta State House of Assembly, DTHA, Asaba.
He said the roads span a total distance of 2,595 kilometres.
Oborevwori added that the roads were without prejudice to more than 800 kilometres of drains that his administration was also handling.
The roads included those being handled by the state Ministry of Works, the Delta State Oil- Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC’, as well as the government’ s special areas development agencies in charge of the state capital territory and the strategic Warri/Uvwie axis.
According to him, the administration had also completed five of the 17 bridge projects it was handling.
He disclosed that the administration would accord due attention to the Warri/ Ode Itsekiri road project because of its importance to Deltans, especially the Itsekiri in whose ancestral land it is located.
