The Delta State House of Assembly has lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what it described as visionary and transformational leadership, effective financial stewardship and an unwavering commitment to human capital development across the state in the past two years.
The commendation came as a resolution during the Governor’s State of the State address delivered on Wednesday at the Assembly Complex in Asaba.
The resolution followed a motion moved by the Leader of the House, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, who praised Governor Oborevwori’s remarkable achievements in key sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
Nwaobi emphasized that the Governor’s strategic approach to governance had brought about notable progress and renewed hope for the people of Delta State.
The motion was seconded by Hon. Ferguson Onwo, who represents Isoko South Constituency II.
It was subsequently adopted through a unanimous voice vote presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor.
In response, Governor Oborevwori expressed gratitude to the legislature for their continued support, partnership and shared commitment to transparency and good governance.
He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to sustaining the pace of development and delivering on the promises made to Deltans.
