The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), under the directive of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has sealed the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), just one day before the party’s scheduled National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
At approximately 2:00 PM, FCTA officials arrived at Wadata Plaza (the PDP’s national headquarters) in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, and locked the entrance gates, effectively barring access to the premises.
This move comes in the wake of a statement issued by the FCTA on Sunday, in which it announced plans to recover properties impacted by the recent revocation of 4,794 land titles. The revocations were reportedly due to prolonged non-payment of ground rent, with some cases spanning between 10 and 43 years.
The timing and implications of this action are likely to fuel political speculation, especially given the significance of the NEC meeting.
