The Federal Government has placed a ₦5 million bounty on seven inmates who escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Ilesa, Osun State, on Tuesday.
Spokesperson for the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), DCC Abubakar Umar, made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
“To encourage public cooperation, the Nigerian Correctional Service is offering a ₦5 million reward for credible information that leads to the recapture of the escapees,” Umar said.
He urged citizens to report any useful leads to the nearest security agency, assuring that all tips will be handled with strict confidentiality and anonymity.
