President Bola Tinubu is currently holding a high-level security meeting with the service chiefs and the Inspector -General of Police at the State House.
The closed-door session comes ahead of his scheduled departure to Rome, where he will attend the inauguration mass of Pope Leo XIV, following a formal invitation from the Vatican.
Details of the agenda of the meeting of the president and security Chiefs were a guarded secret at press time, but it comes amid insecurity in the country, as typified by insurgency, kidnapping, ritual killings and terrorism.
The incidence of insecurity across the land has elicited calls for the overhaul of the country ‘ s security architecture and the creation and operationalization of state police forces.
