From Emmanuel Ogoigbe….Warri
The Presidential Amnesty Programme Coordinator, Barrister (Chief) Denis Otuaro, has pleaded with the people of Niger Delta to continue to be peaceful and law abiding for the rapid development of the region.
According to him, it is only peaceful co-existence among the people that can bring more rapid development.
Otuaro made the passionate appeal while addressing Ijaw and Urhobo people during the celebration of 57th years Remembrance of Late Major Adaka Boro on Friday in Warri, Delta State.
Otuaro remarked that the Late hero, an Ijaw man, fought relentlessly for the good and well-being of the Niger-Delta region, insisting that the honour being accorded him was well deserved and appropriate.
He stated : “We should try to protect our land by living in peace and harmony with our neighbours. I am a focus person, nobody can intimidate me because I like to be upright in all my dealings and I will not entertain any sycophants” .
On his part, Chief Boro Opudu, commended the Ijaw ethnic nationality and the Niger Delta region for their peaceful co-existent and urged them to continue in same manner.
