The Delta State Police Command has rescued a five-month-old baby boy who was abducted two months ago after his mother was allegedly drugged during a trip from Koko to Warri.
The suspect, 49-year-old Mrs Joy Temitope Oyetimi, sedated the 20-year-old mother’s drink, causing her to lose consciousness before fleeing with the child.
Following an intelligence-led investigation, police arrested Oyetimi, who confessed to the crime.
The baby was found in good health and reunited with his parents.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, described the case as a chilling reminder of the dangers of human trafficking and urged the public to stay alert and report suspicious activities.
