Nollywood actress and plus-size model, Monalisa Ayobami Stephen, has died.
Her passing was confirmed by Seun Oloketuyi, Chief Executive Officer of Best of Nollywood (BON), in a post shared via Instagram on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
According to Oloketuyi, Monalisa died on Tuesday, May 13, in Lagos following complications related to low blood sugar and internal bleeding. He noted that her younger sister confirmed the sad development.
“Brand influencer, Monalisa Ayobami Stephen is dead. She died yesterday in Lagos after losing the fight against low sugar and internal bleeding. Her immediate younger sister confirmed the death of this hardworking and beautiful soul,” he wrote.
Monalisa was known for her body positivity advocacy and vibrant presence in both the fashion and film industries.
