In a disturbing revelation, some surviving military personnel in the Boko Haram ravaged military base in Marte in Borno state have alleged that someone they trusted sold them out to the insurgents.
They alleged that they were betrayed and indeed sabotaged by those they trusted to work with them.
The terrorists invaded the Forward Operation Base (FOB), Marte, killing five soldiers, two civilians and escaping with military vehicles and newly acquired motor circles.
The attacks left the military base in total ruins, a development that forced some soldiers and civilian residents to flee for safety.
Informed sources told THE RADARR that the soldiers were taking unaware in the surprise attacks “because some people compromised and gave us out”.
It was alleged that some members of the civilian joint task force entrusted with supporting military operations allegedly facilitated the deadly invasion.
According to one of the surviving officer, “they were very close to our adjutant. We never suspected them”.
