The Osun State House of Assembly has passed a unanimous vote of confidence in Governor Ademola Adeleke, formally endorsing him for a second term in office.
During its plenary session on Tuesday, all 25 members of the Assembly present, 24 from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and one from the All Progressives Congress (APC) declared their support for the governor. The Assembly comprises 26 members in total.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Olamide Tiamiyu, the lawmakers praised Adeleke’s leadership and commended his achievements under the administration’s five-point agenda.
Speaker of the House, Hon. Adewale Egbedun, congratulated the governor on his 65th birthday and praised his developmental strides across the state. “As representatives of the people, we are proud of the governor’s leadership and encourage him to continue pursuing even greater accomplishments,” he said.
Supporting the motion, Hon. Simeone Popoola (Boripe/Boluwaduro Constituency) described Governor Adeleke as “genuine, kind-hearted, and result-oriented,” noting that his personal qualities have contributed significantly to his effective governance.
The vote of confidence motion was moved by Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi (Obokun Constituency) and seconded by Hon. Taofiq Olayiwola (Ede South Constituency). It was adopted unanimously through a voice vote, with enthusiastic approval from the chamber.
Governor Adeleke, whose current term ends in November 2026, is widely expected to seek re-election.
