A video has surfaced online purporting to show a staff of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) allegedly collecting ₦16,000 in cash from new students for admission clearance.
The incident surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), where a student anonymously shared a secretly recorded video of the act.
In the footage, the staff member is seen accepting cash from a student and counting the money to confirm the amount.
According to the student, the staff insists on cash payments only and refuses bank transfers.
The anonymous video man wrote, “Nigerians, come to our help. This is the Faculty of Agriculture doing clearance.”
“This man is collecting ₦16k from each student — this is not fair. Thousands of students are coming to do clearance. He tells you he doesn’t take transfer.”
