The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has assured the state workforce of the commitment of his administration to their welfare.
He also said that the government appreciated the sacrifices of the state workers which, he said, oils the economy of the state.
Okpebholo, in a goodwill press statement on the occasion of Workers’ Day today, said his administration would continue to accord quality attention to the welfare of public officers, particularly in the areas of training, prompt payment of entitlements, enhancement of working conditions and the promotion of industrial harmony.
The statement was signed on behalf of the governor by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua.
In it, he commended the two labour fronts in the state, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), for what he called their consistent advocacy for workers’ rights.
He urged workers in the state to use the occasion to rededicate themselves to the growth and prosperity of the state.
