A police inspector, Bishop Clement, who was declared missing last week, has been found dead in Festac Town, Lagos State, in a case that has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Inspector Clement’s lifeless body was discovered in the Second Rainbow area of Festac Town, days after his wife reported his disappearance to the authorities. A Police Wireless Message had been circulated across various police divisions in Lagos, seeking assistance in locating him.
Clement, a serving officer with the Nigeria Police Force, was last seen on April 23, 2025. According to official communication obtained by SaharaReporters, he left for work that day and failed to return home, prompting concern from his family.
The internal police signal, referenced AB: 2680/LS/AP/VOL.1/146, was issued by the Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration (COMPOL DFA), Ikeja, and the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Area ‘B’, Apapa. It stated that the Inspector’s wife reported him missing around 3:00 p.m. on the day he vanished, noting that all attempts to reach him via his mobile phones were unsuccessful.
Part of the police message read:
“Information received from the wife of AP/NO. 352498, Inspector Bishop Clement ‘M’, attached mine, that her husband… has not returned home since he left for work, and his mobile phone numbers 08062389359 and 08058981999 have not been reachable.”
Authorities had requested that the message be disseminated to other divisions and formations to aid in locating the officer.
The circumstances surrounding Inspector Clement’s death remain unclear as investigations continue.
