Plateau State, Nigeria – At least 18 cows have died after grazing on a farmland suspected to have been recently fumigated in Vwei community, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
According to local sources, the incident occurred on Wednesday when the cattle, owned by one Dan’azumi Haruna, wandered onto the farmland.
Out of the affected livestock, 11 cows reportedly died instantly, while seven others were slaughtered due to fears of chemical contamination.
An additional 15 cows showing signs of chemical exposure are currently undergoing treatment, sources said.
