The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the full fixtures for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, with Nigeria’s Super Eagles set to begin their title chase against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania.
According to the schedule, the three-time African champions will open their Group B campaign on December 23 against Tanzania. The Super Eagles will then face the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on December 27, before rounding off their group stage matches against Uganda on December 30.
Nigeria will be hoping for a strong start as they seek a record-equalling fourth continental title, having last lifted the AFCON trophy in 2013.
CAF disclosed that the Group B fixtures will be played across two venues in Morocco, with specific stadiums to be confirmed in the coming days.
The 2025 AFCON, expected to feature some of the continent’s biggest football rivalries, promises thrilling encounters as top nations battle for African supremacy. Under their new technical leadership, the Super Eagles are determined to make a deep run in pursuit of continental glory.

The way NFF is being run by it’s leadership is the reasons for failures. With Nigerian crop of players littered around the Globe, it’s unfortunate that our leaders do not encourage merit or select the best players.
