I Will Not Place Our Relationship Above the Party – Gov Fintiri Tells Wike
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, who also serves as Chairman of the PDP National Convention Committee, has issued a strong response to demands from former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and his allies.
Speaking on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, Fintiri vowed that no faction would derail the forthcoming Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State.
He stressed that loyalty to the party must come before personal ties.
“I will not place our relationship above this party. Let us not take all our matters to the media. It is becoming too embarrassing,” Fintiri said while addressing reporters on the sidelines of convention preparations.
The governor emphasized that disputes within the PDP should be handled internally, warning that acts of indiscipline and blackmail would not be tolerated.
“If you are a party man, you settle issues within the party. We will not allow indiscipline and blackmail to derail this process,” he added.
